Our toddler program services children 24 -35 months of age. This is our “class of discovery” because in this class your child will be given opportunities to discover their world and how it works. We place a special emphasis on language development, gross and fine motor development, and social skills. Miss Lori and Miss Cortney work as a team to create an exciting classroom experience for your little one. For young children this is very exciting time. They are not only are able to explore the world more independently, but are also learning how to express their own ideas. The teachers create all the lesson plans for this group to align with the Infant / Toddler Pennsylvania State Standards. This helps to ensure that your toddler's milestones are being met before their transition to the Preschool program.

The state ratio for this group is 1 teacher to every 6 toddlers over the age of 24 months and 1 teacher to every 5 toddlers between the ages of 12 – 23 months. On a typical day the toddler room has 1 teacher to every 4 children.

At EMLC, Inc. we believe that children learn through their play. With this in mind, we have created a classroom atmosphere that allows children to be creative and explore the world around them.

Some of the interest areas in the room include:

Blocks: The block area is filled with things such as people, cars, and various types of blocks
 for unlimited building possibilities!

Dramatic Play: This interest center is designed to create a "home" like atmosphere. We have included some real world items such as cookbooks and curtains to allow your little one to imagine they are cooking like mammy and daddy!

Gross Motor: We have a wonderful climber in the space that allows for not only gross motor play but for imaginative play as well!

• Art:  Hand-Eye coordination is important for little ones and through their art projects they are able to work on this skill along with finding their own inner Picasso!

Library: With toddlers, being able to explore books and stories helps to promote a true love for language and literature.

The staff of EMLC, Inc. believe in Parents as Partners. We like to have open communication with the families we serve and to help us do this better we have created an in-depth "Toddler Daily Report" highlighting areas of your child's day. The staff complete these reports for every child each day. Our goal is to make you feel as though you spent the day with your little one simply by the information we have provided for you.
